West Generator Blockheaters
The blockheater is an important part of the generator engine design. It is
to keep the engine block at 90F to 110F. Most diesel engine generators need
to have their engine block at a constant warm temperature for easy and quick
starting. The blockheater is sized by the quantity of coolant the engine holds,
and by the wattage and voltage the blockheater heating element is plugged
into. The antifreeze circulates throughout the engine block, and the coolant
has to be pure and mineral free so the heating element maintains 100% efficiency.
